Water Conservation

Drip, Drip, Flush, Flush, Splash, Splash... that’s the sound of your money going down the drain! Water Conservation is not only the right thing to do but it can save you a bucket of cash and put that cash back in your pocket where it belongs.

Here are a few facts about water usage that apply to your home, your business, hotels and resorts, medical facilities and clinics, institutions, health clubs, etc. Water is one of our most important resources and there are easy and affordable ways to conserve on your daily water usage that will make a noticeable difference in your monthly water bills.

Check the facts below and if you own or manage a hotel or resort where there are hundreds of rooms with water usage way beyond what they need to be. Do the math and I’m sure you’ll see your Return on Investment will be huge as time goes by.

  1. An average toilet takes 6.5 gallons of water to flush. This can be modified with a retro-fit dual flush toilet or replaced to use 1.6 gallons per flush.
  2. 6.5 gallons of water per flush makes up about 20% of your overall water bill.
  3. An average of 8% of all home water use is wasted through leaks.
  4. An average faucet runs 2.5 gallons per minute. This can be modified to reduce the water flow to .03 gallons per minute.
  5. A leaky faucet can waste up to 100 gallons per day!
  6. The average shower uses about 40 gallons of water per shower. The shower can be modified to use only 20 gallons of water.
  7. Showers make up over 25% of your overall water bill. This is for an average household not taking into consideration how many teenagers you have at home.
  8. Approximately 1 million miles of pipelines and aqueducts carry water in the U.S. and Canada. Thank your Commercial Plumbers.
